Tai Chi & Tirapy Dynamic Meditation

I am delighted to announce that the next date in the Nurture Retreats diary has been confirmed on Sunday 3rd October.

The day will focus on the use of movement to release mental and physical dis-ease.

Don will lead a Tai Chi Yang Style routine on the platform. No prior experience of Tai Chi is required, just warm comfortable clothes to move in. Tai Chi originally developed as a Chinese martial art in the 13th century and is now practised around the world as a health-promoting exercise. It provides a wonderful combination of deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements. The movements are low impact and suitable for everyone, irrespective of fitness levels.

To compliment the Tai Chi practice Don will introduce the concept of Tirapy, the use of a hand held Tiraball to enhance the effects of dynamic meditation. Tirapy was established by the Master Titan Lam to combine principles of traditional Chinese medicine, modern sporting movement and human anatomy to achieve the most effective motion for the mind and body. Tirapy has been shown to be a particularly good exercise system for people with high levels of mental stress and anxiety, chronic pain or hormonal imbalances. Don will bring Tiraballs for everyone and demonstrate how different focused movements can be used to effect different body systems. There will also be the opportunity to purchase a Tiraball on the day if you wish to continue your practise at home.

I will be sharing some more Tiny Habits Coaching insights and leading a discussion on health promoting behaviours that are sustainable and fun.

And, as an extra treat Don and I will be hosting a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony for everyone.
